Bradley Boulevard Bikeway Meeting Tomorrow

Tomorrow evening, November 10th, the Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) will host a Public Workshop from 7pm to 9pm at Pyle Middle School to discuss revisions to the Bradley Boulevard Bikeway Plan. The Bradley Boulevard Bikeway is a project to improve pedestrian and bicyclist mobility, as well as stormwater treatment, along Bradley Boulevard between Wilson Lane and Goldsboro Road.  The project is included in both the 1990 Chevy Chase Master Plan and the 2005 County Bikeways Plan, and would provide greater cyclist accommodation in the vicinity of the Capital Crescent Trail (CCT) and the Bethesda Trolley Trail on a section of Bradley Boulevard that already experiences high cyclist volume. The project has been in design for several years and has drawn opposition from some who have attempted to label the bikeway a “bike path to nowhere” despite its obvious contribution to pedestrian and cyclist mobility in this area of high demand. WABA encourages cyclists who ride in Montgomery County to attend the meeting and provide constructive comments expressing support for multi-modal design in the County. Full project documents can be found here by selecting “Bradley Boulevard Bikeway (Wilson Lane – Goldsboro Rd.)” from the list. Show up and show your support for improved cycling in the community, the county, and the region! WHAT: MCDOT Public Meeting on the Bradley Boulevard Bikeway Plan WHEN: Wednesday, November 10th, 7pm-9pm WHERE: Pyle Middle School, 6311 Wilson Lane, Bethesda, MD 20817
