Clean Up the CCT With DDOE for MLK Day

On Sat., Jan. 19, the District Department of the Environment will be hosting an invasive-plant removal project in the C&O Canal National Historic Park, along the Capital Crescent Trail. We encourage trail users, regional cyclists, and those looking to celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day with a service project to attend. A group will meet at the upper parking lot at Fletcher’s Cove at 9 a.m. on Saturday and work along the trail between the cove and the bridge at Arizona Avenue. DDOE will provide tools and gloves. Volunteers will have to complete the National Park Service’s volunteer service agreement.

Register online here (be sure to choose the C&O Canal/DDOE site in the drop-down menu). The event’s Facebook page can be found here.ddoe flyer
