Celebrate Bruce Deming’s Book, Surviving the Crash, on Oct. 22

This message comes from Arlington-based attorney Bruce Deming, a supporter of WABA (members may recall his ads in our quarterly print newsletter, RideOn). Bruce is releasing a new book about cyclists’ rights in the event of a crash, and has extended an invitation to the release party to WABA members and supporters. Read on for details and RSVP here:
WABA members are cordially to a book launch party being hosted Bruce Deming, an Arlington-based attorney and competitive cyclist. The event will be held on Oct. 22 at Mad Rose Tavern in the Clarendon neighborhood of Arlington from 6-8 p.m. The event will bring together local bike advocates, bike racers, bike commuters and recreational riders to celebrate the launch of Bruce’s new cycling book, Surviving the Crash: Your Legal Rights in a Bicycle Accident. Cycling has never been more popular in the Virginia area, thanks to the tireless advocacy of our friends committed to making our community one of the most bike-friendly anywhere.  But with the increase in cycling has come an increase in the number of accidents involving cyclists.  Bruce wrote this book to provide all members of the cycling community with important information they need to make sure their rights are protected. Proceeds from the event will go to Bikes for the World, a people-focused project that rescues thousands of unwanted bicycles and puts them to good use providing access to work, school, and health care in developing nations.
The Surviving the Crash release is tomorrow night, Tues., Oct. 22 from 6-8 p.m. at Mad Rose Tavern, 3100 Clarendon Boulevard, Arlington. All attendees will receive free copies of the book, as well as complementary water bottles and other cool swag. Discount craft beers will be available and fabulous door prizes will be raffled to benefit Bikes for the World. Please RSVP here.
