Support Bradly Winans and WABA!

Please help me reach my goal of $1,000 by October 11!
Bicycling can change lives in big and small ways. On a personal level, it’s an inexpensive, active and enjoyable form of transportation for me everyday on my way to and from work. I feel healthy and happy every time I sit in my saddle knowing I’m benefiting my body as well as the environment! In the bigger picture, it’s good for my community: it slows roads down to human speeds (less-fatal), which opens up transportation options and benefits small businesses. It’s also good for the environment, which is my personal favorite: biking means I’m not driving a car, which mitigates air pollution in my city and reduces demand for inefficient, sprawl-based land use.
That’s why I’m raising money for the Washington Area Bicycling Association (WABA), a local nonprofit organization dedicated to creating a healthy, more livable region by promoting bicycling for fun, fitness, and affordable transportation. One of their major projects is the Capital Trails Coalition: bringing together local organizations to increase connectivity among the greenways in the DC area. One of those trails is the C&O Canal towpath, stretching 184.5 miles from Georgetown to Cumberland.
In October, I will be biking the entire length of the C&O Canal to raise money and awareness for WABA’s work. It will be both a challenge and a joy to ride this far, and I hope you’ll join me in this effort to support WABA. Please help me reach my goal of raising $1,000!
